In this subject, students are introduced to the concepts of data science, which involves the real world, and develop their ability to design a solution for existing business problems and opportunities. Students learn to use modern modelling and solution techniques to solve decision-making problems in business, industry, and public services. Students learn how mathematical methods help solve optimisation problems, including production planning, scheduling, human resource rostering, robotics and vehicle routing, network design, and resource allocation.
